Friday night = glass o' red
We attended a games night this past Friday. I was excited to head to the liquor store and peruse for a wine I deemed suitable for playing games.
I hummed and hawed over an Oregon Pinot Noir...Washington Merlot...then finally settled on the following:
Chateau de Jau, Côtes du Roussillon Villages, 2006
Located in southern France, Côtes du Roussillon Villages, an appellation part of the Languedoc - Roussillon region, is one of the largest wine regions in the country. This particular wine is a blend of Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache. Plenty of blackberry, dried fruit and pepper. It was a lovely sipping wine while we enjoyed some games with our friends. I was able to purchase it for $20 on the shelf but prices may vary depending on your area.
Cheers
